Voluntary Review of Quality of Care

For over 30 years, the Voluntary Review of Quality of Care (VRQC) program has been a trusted partner to hospitals and health systems nationwide—delivering expert, confidential, and objective assessments of obstetric and gynecologic services. Each site visit is led by a multidisciplinary team, including ACOG Fellows, who bring clinical expertise and a collaborative approach to identifying opportunities for improvement. VRQC has conducted over 400 site visits, reflecting its deep experience across a wide spectrum of care environments—from 20-bed hospitals with Level I obstetric services to 1,400-bed institutions providing Level IV care.

Whether your facility is large or small, urban or rural, academic or community-based, the VRQC program adapts to your context. Reviews are available for individual hospitals or across entire health systems. System leaders can request reviews for multiple facilities and receive a comprehensive systemwide analysis that synthesizes findings and highlights trends across sites.

Safety Event Review

Near misses and other patient safety events are learning opportunities. Quality in Action’s Safety Event Reviews can help your team turn safety event data into an action plan for improvement.
